Synopsis: A quiet suburb bustles with day-to-day activities as a local nurse, Ana, comes home from a long night's work at the hospital, where they have been experiencing unusual injuries and unexplained deaths. She flees her home, which is infested with zombies, and ends up in an accident. A cop finds her and they set out to find some place to hide. They meet up with a gang member and his wife and a salesman and head into the local mega-mall. They hold up for a bit only to be detained by the mall security officers. Time goes by and one day a box truck pulls up with survivors inside. More time passes and eventually they realize that they need to escape. They get away in fortified busses and make for the coastline. Using one of the survivor's boats they head to an island off the coast hoping for salvation...

Review: As I said in the review I did for the 1978 version, that the effects parallel the times, posses true for this version as well. Just as the effects in the original were top quality for 1978, so as in the remake. The blood and gore and all of that yummy stuff was just top notch. I loved the variations from the original, like the pregnant woman, and Andy. I didn't think you could make it better and they did. Very impressed with the remake, but, as usual, could have done without the sex part. It wasn't long...or necessary. Other than that I thought the acting was great and the altered plotline was excellent. Definitely a must see.

Rating: 22. Once again, could have done without the sex. But the rest of the movie made up for this. Enjoyed most of the movie with pockets of boredom here and there, but that can be expected in "heavy story" movies. Overall I would say that this was a terrific remake and applaud Snyder for a great remake of a classic. (22of25).
