Synopsis: Sarah and her friends decide to go cave diving for a fun-filled weekend away from their busy lives. They go deeper and deeper, and eventually find out that Juno, Sarah’s best friend, who is also the guide, has led them into an unknown cave system. They trek on only to discover that they are not the only ones in the caves. They find a clearing riddled with bones and dead carcasses, confirming their suspicions that they are not alone. Something is hunting them through the darkness…something human! Encountering the humanoid creatures who are trying to kill them, they start fighting back! But Juno is hiding a dark secret and the rest of their posse is dwindling quickly. Can Sarah still trust Juno or will she have to make it out on her own?

Review: I have been hearing a lot of hype about this flick and frankly…I agree! This movie was fantastic! Even though it seemed to start off slow, apart from the accident, the movie took some nice turns and kept me very attentive. The blood and gore were done very well and the humanoids were also done very well. I was impressed with the story and the plot was pretty good. The acting wasn’t bad but the script was a bit lax. Although, when you are making a bloody creature movie, your dialog doesn’t have to be stellar. The concept was the thing that drew me in I think…it was something new and fresh, but slightly reminiscent of Golem from Lord of the Rings. Apart from all that, I didn’t like the ending, unless they plan to do a sequel (which could take an array of angles). Great movie though!

Rating: 20. I loved everything but the ending and the sheer amount of darkness in almost every shot. I know that it is imperative for the ambiance but I just can’t stand when I can’t see what’s happening. It did add to the experience though, feeling helpless in the dark. If you have not yet seen this movie you are seriously missing out! (20of25).
