Whilst on the shortcut from hell, an unknown figure throws a spike strip in front of their car and they crash. No one is hurt but the father and his son-in-law go in opposite directions on the road to get help. Later some men attack their vehicles and steal the baby. The son-in-law goes after the baby and finds a strange town in the middle of the desert. Following the cries of his child, he fights his way to her...but not before learning the horrible truth behind the attack, the town, and the desert.

Review: This is one of the best remakes I have ever seen. The movie was kind of slow at first but ended up turning out pretty darn good. The use of excessive blood and gore was a nice touch and the makeup was fantastic. And the concept, however overplayed, was very well executed. This movie is not for the queasy of faint-hearted.

Rating: oooo...uhhh...22. The only thing I can say that bothered me was the over-use of screaming. I know, I know, it's a horror movie and there is supposed to be a lot of screaming. But even in down times there was screaming...just seemed like too much. I felt the same way about the original TCM. Anyway, great movie and even better remake...a must for horror fans. (22of25).
