Review: This was a made for TV movie that was really good. I loved the book (yes, I can read) and the movie was pretty cool too. Tim Curry is the evil clown that tortures the seven kids in the movie and he is just great. Despite being a TV production it was well acted and directed. I love that they do flashbacks in the movie because it gives you a back story as to why these people have come back to anywhere to fight a demon. If you look closely you will find quite a few notable names in the cast like; John Ritter, Harry Anderson (the guy from Night Court), the guy who played Johnboy Walton, Seth Green, and obviously Tim curry. The movie is kind of long and it is almost two movies in one: the kid’s story and the adult’s story. It’s kind of like how The Godfather II was really long and could have been two movies with all the flashbacks. Now, I’m not comparing this movie to The Godfather II, but the concept is what holds true.

Rating: 17. TV movies lack the gore and violence that this movie could have benefited from. Even though it was really well done; some appropriately placed death scenes could have pushed this to a 19 or 20 rating. I think if you like horror you will dig this movie. There are some campy parts but it works and there are some really cool parts in the flick that do it right. My personal opinion is that I wouldn’t be surprised if this was remade as a big budget picture. It has all the story and ability to stand up in Hollywood. Check it out, you won’t be sorry. (17of25).
