Synopsis: Death’s back on the job again! Eight strangers’ lives are forever changed after a young girl’s premonition about their impending death keeps them from getting on the highway. Getting in the way of Death’s plans only causes more problems as Death comes back to finish the job. The only way to get Death off their back is to disrupt the chain of doom. Can this young girl save the rest of the survivors, and herself?

Review: Final Destination 2 (2003) was better than the first one. It was like part one was the appetizer and part two is the main course. So I guess part three would be like the dessert (now I’m hungry, dammit! I want a donut).

Unlike Hostel: Part II (2007), Final Destination 2 (2003) did not disappoint in the blood and gore department…or the creativity. The use of the giant log and the airbag just made you wince in fear. And when the guy was quartered by the wires I caught a sick chill and started to smile. It’s clear to me that a lot of thought went into writing a good script each time in order to keep things fresh. Because, doing a series like this can get dull if you don’t use Death to its full potential. The most fun was the young boy’s death. You would think that a heavy pane of glass falling onto someone would just flatten them out, but…booyah! Total blender-meat!

Again the director kept with the dark and mysterious, keeping you in your seat with Death at every turn and paranoia running rampant. It seems like Death was trying to drive everyone crazy in order to keep them in line and kill them off. There’s not really much bad to say Final Destination so far; the first one was a great lead-in to part two and they did a great job of tying the information from both stories together, even including the heroine from part one as a pivotal character in the middle to try and change the tide, but, as always, Death doesn’t half-ass a job. If things continue on this path, part three is sure to be a winner.

Rating: Final Destination 2 (2003) was a clear improvement over part one, so I’d have to give part two a 23. I’m given to Flights of Fancy with movies like this…yes, they are summer teenage movies, but grab a cold drink and some popcorn and they will be fun for the horror movie lover in all of us…snoochie boochies!! (thanks Kevin Smith) (23of25).
